Tennessee Trophy whitetail hunting
Tennessee Trophy Whitetail
Black Jack Outfitters is located near the sleepy little railroad town of Cowan, TN - approximately 90 miles from Nashville and 60 miles from Chattanooga. We offer some of the best whitetail deer hunting in the region. We offer archery, muzzleloader and rifle hunts. Our property is private farmland with approximately 500 acres of cropland and about 100 acres of woods. The land is surrounded by thousands of acres of mountain land with very little hunting pressure. The crops on our property draw deer from all around the area. Our deer herd is very healthy given the year round food sources.
We have several ladder stands and 6 very nice shooting houses with office chairs scattered around the property and overlooking our 4 food plots. You will be dropped off at your stand and picked up after every hunt. The land has been farmed in soybeans the last six years and there is always plenty in the fields for the deer to eat for most of the winter.
You may take 1 buck and 1 doe during the 3 day hunt. We only allow mature bucks to be harvested and impose a penalty of $250 for bucks not meeting our minimum criteria: 8 points or more and an inside antler spread of at least 15 inches. This will ensure trophy deer every year. This requirement is waived for youth hunters 15 years or younger. You may also take unlimited coyotes and bobcats.
We have an award-winning taxidermist and deer processor about 20 minutes away that can take care of your deer if you want. These costs are not included with the hunt.
Lodging and meals are currently not provided as part of the hunt. We hope to change that in the next couple of years. For now, there is an outstanding bed and breakfast ( Franklin-Pearson House ) 5 minutes from the farm that is only $80-90 per night and right next to one of the best restaurants in the entire area - an upscale Mexican restaurant that has the best Mexican food around. We also have RV hookups (water, electricity, septic) on the hunting property for those with campers - no extra cost. Finally, Winchester is only 10-15 minutes from the farm with additional lodging options and has a large selection of restaurants including most of the fast food restaurants.
